There is Flat Turf action today at Brighton; Hamilton and Yarmouth, AW at Kempton; NH at Newton Abbot and an Irish Fixture. The Cards in terms of quality and quantity and Going at Brighton and Yarmouth put us off a little; although last time out winner for us TOPMEUP may be a nice horse to include in any accumulators (runs in 7.50). At Newton Abbot, the Going is likely to be a fair bit firmer than it was last week, when we were there and had a 9/1 winner, as we have had serious rain in Devon sinc... [Read More]

There is racing today on the Flat at Leicester; Thirsk and Windsor; some NH at Bangor On Dee and an Irish meeting too. A smattering of decent races, a lot of competitive lower Grade Handicaps and with some decent Going, a number of decent punting opportunities. Having endured week after week of small fields and few options, we will push to boat out a bit today, whilst conditions are favourable, and try to continue what has been a decent few days with winners at 14/1 and 9/1 three times since Wed... There is Racing on the Flat today at Pontefract and over sticks at Southwell and also a Card in Ireland. There is a decent Fillies Race at Pontefract, which we will attack and also a 3 mile Handicap Hurdle at Southwell, that may offer some value. We will also have a dabble with a couple of small unit reverse forecast suggestions at Southwell, all 4 horses were in our 2017/2018 NH winter Tracker, and all have running styles that may just deliver something on this track that suits prominent runners... An excellent day of Racing in store today and after some very welcome rain, probably the most competitive and exciting in terms of depth since early June.We have ELITE SERVICE tips from David from RIPON + NEWBURY. David takes a 2 week break after today and we wish him a happy and relaxing holiday! We have 4 x Mention races for the Daily Tips, covering 4 different tracks at Chepstow; Doncaster; Newbury and Newmarket, and could easily have had another 3-4 races, so things are certainly back on an e... There are 8 Fixtures today, but if we weed out the two AW Fixtures and two over in Ireland, we are left with a more manageable 4 at Newbury; Newmarket; Nottingham and Catterick, and within those I targeted 6 decent bigger field all age Handicaps, seeking some value. What we found was all a bit "speculative" but all ticked the right boxes of Course form, form at this time of year; form on Good ground with some cut and all have very winnable handicap marks and all are surely better on this ground,... We had a great day at Newton Abbot yesterday and a long overdue winner with BILLY MY BOY advised at 9/1, running prominently and staying on bravely to end my own personal drought and to give us some nice overall profit on the day. Our own sponsored race; despite only 5 runners although of good quality, delivered a superb finish with 3 jumping the last upsides, a worthy and deserved winner, and a lovely Owner/Breeder who was a delight to chat to and epitomised all that is good about National Hunt... We sponsor our first ever race today, and whilst the 2.50 at Newton Abbot has cut up in to just a 5 runner affair; and concerns about that are more than mitigated by the fact that it is easily the best NH Race of the day in terms of quality and also by the fantastic customer service we have received so far from the Course; which is much appreciated. We will be entertaining around 15 Members of The Brixham Battery, a Military Museum charity, that we support, and amongst those will be some fantast... [Read More]

We could not find a winner yesterday but Chebsey Beau at 14/1 was a runner up and Stone The Crows at 9/2 placed in the 2.55 at Ripon, a decent enough e/w return but I was more than a shade frustrated that we did not include the winner (Stormin Tom) in the T/Cast perm, a case of being swayed by the perceived value of the horse, who we had tipped to win the same race last year. At Ayr, Speed Company was not far away, but increasingly looks like one that flatters to deceive "in running" and finds p... [Read More]

There is action today at Ayr, Ripon; Windsor; Wolverhampton and Ballinrobe. The Card at Ayr is full of competitive Class 6 races but we like the look of a decent Class 3 Handicap there, and elsewhere on Turf, there is a nice Class 4 long distance Handicap at Ripon; for us to get our teeth in to.The plan and logic over the next few weeks will be to look for better Class of Racing each day, to target well handicapped and relatively fresh horses who have been kept away from the worst of the firm gr... We have tips from David and The SP2A Elite Service today, swerving Ascot and The Shergar Cup with a couple of races at Haydock Park; sadly an early non runner but with small fields at Newmarket, and nothing else really standing out, easily the best meeting on the day.As announced on Friday morning, no selections tomorrow but plenty to look forwards to next week, not the least Newton Abbot on Wednesday and also some decent ground likely all over the UK at long last. The following week sees our fa... [Read More]

Good Morning; There is a nice mixture of action today with a couple of decent Irish Fixtures (I think it is a Bank Holiday there?) at Cork and The Curragh, and a big field race at Cork with enhanced place Odds and a nice 6 furlong Sprint at The Curragh, give us some real value opportunities. It has been blindingly hot down in Devon over the weekend, once eary cloud has burned off, so despite rain last week; I think Newton Abbot will ride a little firmer than "Good" so we will have a dart there in... Good MorningIt is nice to be able to report winners, after a poor July, and for his third successive Tipping day, David found one with the facile and easy winner LIL ROCKERFELLER advise to win at 3/1. One aspect of the logic that David uses, that probably exceeds myself and Michael (previous Elite exponents) is his use of a shorter priced win bet, if he thinks it is strong enough. The fact that he also got 4th placed (enhanced as advised) COOL SKY added to the net haul from that race. A 3/1 winn... [Read More]

Good Morning;A nice winner from David to start the week at Glorious Goodwood; he found the runner up with his second race analysis and Suedois did everything but win for Placespotter, although in fairness, the winner on the "nod" would have been a very unlucky loser, but fine margins denied up a win and instead a bit of loose change. That's a nice winner though on Saturday and yesterday for Elite and after a difficult month, increasing signs of life at the end of a dark tunnel, and August will h... [Read More]

Good MorningWe have racing today at Ayr and Windsor (it is Monday after all) both will race on ground possibly a bit softer than advertised. There is AW at Lingfield (extra meeting arranged in midst of heatwave to allow Trainers to run horses who desperately needed a race and not on green tarmac) and a schedule Card at Wolverhampton. Both AW meetings are heavily subscribed in terms of runners and with many I think we have to take at face value that they will be running to retain/regain sharpness... [Read More]

Good MorningIt was welcome to have a winner yesterday with FLYING PURSUIT and David also bagged a place and an enhanced place in the big Handicap Race at Ascot, where the Handicapper, must surely be congratulated for a fantastic close finish. Great to see some proper Soft ground at York and Ground with "no sting" at Ascot. We have had some decent rain in most places prior to today, and a real dollop all over it seems today, it has come just in time for Glorious Goodwood and Galway, and desp... We finally got the rain we have desperately needed, albeit, very heavy in places, none in others and even in local areas very random. There is a much heavier belt coming in tomorrow, and hopefully that will affect all areas where racing is due next week and take all of the sting out of the ground and with much less intense heat, we can get back to some form on normality, for the first time since mid June, we certainly have much to look forwards to in the next 10 days and beyond, we can't do anyt... Good MorningThere are 5 UK meetings today and a couple in Ireland. We have no less than 8 horses in the Tracker for today, many of them "crying out" to be tipped. However, having had a real battle between heart (that says treat it as a normal day) and head (that keeps looking at extremes of Going and conditions); and taking in to account basic common sense, I have decided to abstain; so there will be NO SELECTIONS today nor tomorrow The weather forecasters are unanimous in their predictions t... The weather forecast for Horse Racing consideration for the week looks horrific, very high temperatures up to 30 degrees and stifling unremitting heat. The only good point is that it looks like it will be a bit cooler up North and we have some great action in Yorkshire at the "Go Racing in Yorkshire Festival" and with some bits of rain, likely best fields and option will be up there. There is Racing today at Ayr; Beverley; Cartmel (NH); Windsor and in Ireland, some decent fields BUT, very low Gra... There is the usual glut of Friday afternoon and evening Fixtures and a lot of small fields again, but the rarity of the probability of some significant rain possible in most parts of the Country. How much arrives and what impact it has is anyone guess, I think the best we can hope for is that it "takes the sting out of the firm ground" for a few days at least. The one track where I think we can be sure of something a bit more significant and the chance of some genuinely Good Going, if not a touch... Good Morning; There is racing today at Chepstow; Doncaster; Epsom; Hamilton; Leicester and also over in Ireland. It is a measure of how poor the racing is (one exception is the unfathomable 8.00 at Doncaster); that I spent an hour on the Apprentice Handicap at Leopardstown, before giving up on that as a serious option. It is not just the quality of the races in the majority Class 5 and 6 and some tricky 2 year old races, but also the frightening lack of quantity with only 4 of the 34 races in the ... Having looked at all of the Cards in depth, we will focus on ONE RACE at Uttoxeter.A small net profit yesterday courtesy of a bold and brave ride on SEMANA SANTA down the near side rail at Thirsk, it probably deserved more than a 4th place (paid by all Bookies) at an SP of 16/1; and set the race up for the winner, the only one to fo... There are meetings at Bath (tarmac like Going again); Beverley (reports of significant rain last night); Thirsk and Worcester today, and very few serious Betting options. At least we are seeing some rain but hard to quantify how much and we need something more sustained to get in to the ground. Chatting to a few other Tipsters (not SP2A); it seems many are suffering similar lulls in form, a few exceptions, but they tend to be the ones who will put up 12-20 horses a day and seek to make a net ove... Good MorningThe dry and hot spell has certainly taken its toll on field sizes today at Ascot; Chepstow and York in particular, and the Card at Newmarket is not particularly appealing with the only big field race today being a 13 runner 2 year old race. There seemed to be a significant high draw and prominent pace bias there yesterday and it will be interesting to watch and learn today, with a view to tomorrow, especially as the Stalls positions may vary and bring the near side in to play tomorro...
