It's been a quiet week in terms of tipping opportunity and today is no exception. There is NH at Wetherby and Fontwell (inspection pending) and AW at Southwell; with Clonmel to become the latest Irish Meeting to be abandoned.  We'll have a tip race at Wetherby and a "Pointer". There are some cracking NH Cards on Saturday and Sunday and a glut of 9 Easter Monday Bank Holiday Fixtures including flat Turf, so a busy weekend ahead. Good FRiday as many will recall used to be a Non... [Read More]

There is National Hunt Racing at Hereford and Wincanton today and a few races of interest. There is also AW at Kempton, but no Racing in Ireland where the scheduled Wexford Fixture has been abandoned. We have tips and analysis in a couple of races, one each at Hereford and Wincanton and a small "pointer" in a second Wincanton Race. --------- [Read More]

We're in those small windows before the Turf Flat kicks in and before the big closing NH Fixtures at Ayr and Aintree. It's always a quiet time but a chance to take some small sensible speculative bets and we had a fine run yesterday by Getaway With You who was backed in from 25-28/1 available early to around 11/1 SP. I have subsequently been told it was tipped about an hour after us by a well known and well respected ex Twitter now subscription Tipster, who does move markets in a ... [Read More]

A pretty eventful race at Ascot yesterday where the fancied The Bold Thady unseated early having been left with nowhere to go when a horse fell right in front of it, thankfully both horses and jackets emerged unscathed from a horrible looking incident. Johnny B ran well for a long way but the real eye catcher was Outside Adesa who ran with great credit and promise and very much backed up the P2P analysis. It was just nabbed on the line for 3rd but with almost all Bookies paying to 4th ... [Read More]

We'll do a review of Doncaster racing from yesterday tomorrow morning , together with a review of the tip race from today. We had a good long look at the Doncaster Card, dominated by Sprint type races and with tacky deep ground we just felt it was too early in the season and too many imponderables to get involved. The Irish Flat meeting at Naas too is being held in excessively deep ground, Sprints have been abandoned, and a glut of 7 furlong races doesn't really inspire confidence or e... [Read More]

We were a shade unlucky to see the well fancied Take No Chances and big priced Hermino AA just get touched off in a close finish at Newbury yesterday but excellent runs from both of them. A decent run too from Mahler Moon to place in the other tip race. The 2024 Turf Flat season starts today at Doncaster and we'll focus on that Meeting with the 2 main tip races. There is a decent NH Card at Newbury but nothing really stands out, must point out the very exciting NH Trainer Championship Title... [Read More]

Sean continued his decent week following some near misses on the Flat at The Curragh on Monday with a 20/1 winner at Cork yesterday courtesy of CLONBURY BRIDGE advised at 12/1 and winning at a 20/1SP and another example that unlike the mainstream so called Tipsters who advise at inflated unachievable odds, it is actually possible to not only find a nice big priced winner, but also one that wins at a significantly higher SP after drifting in the market. Michael was unable to double up with a winn... [Read More]

No return from the somewhat speculative selections yesterday which we did flag up as out of form types but on decent handicap marks if reviving. The analysis indicated that if they did revive they would have decent sporting chances, sadly none of them did and must all go back to the drawing board. There are small fields today at Chepstow and Ludlow and AW atSouthwell. Cork stages a decent weekday NH Card with 3 well subscribed big field handicaps, one looks like a decent betting heat, one f... [Read More]

There is NH at Market Rasen and Haydock today and AW at Southwell.  A couple of long distance Handicap Hurdles with 9 runner fields at least give us some scope to bet to 3 places, so our NORTHERN Expert has hopefully found a few at nice prices with some very interesting back-form, that suggests the early prices may be somewhat overpriced in the conditions. Let's look at those races and then look at the Cheltenham Handicaps. Good morning; A very encouraging start to the Irish Flat season for Sean yesterday with only the 3/1 favourite Chazzesme preventing a near clean sweep for selections with Smooth Tom runner up, Casanova 4th and San Aer 6th, with Speculator having the 3rd placed UK raider Raadobarg for good measure. Not a bad effort in a 20 runner handicap. Not such a good outcome for Michael in the following 23 runner race, although he did have a handy 3rd place at 22/1 SP for his top tip Magical Charm.&nbsp... We'll start our Cheltenham Review in tomorrow morning's e-mail, it'll conclude on Wednesday and then on Thursday we'll announce our plans and thoughts for the remainder on the main NH season up to the end of April. The Turf flat starts in Ireland today at The Curragh and we'll attack the Irish Lincoln at 4.10 and the consolation race at 4.40. There is little to enthuse over in small field NH Fixtures today at Southwell and Fontwell, nor on the AW at Newcastle. [Read More]

Good Morning A nice win for Boombawn at Kempton to start the day yesterday and then a cracking effort from both Supremely West and Tanganyika at double figure SP's to finish second and third at Uttoxeter, beaten only by another Skelton horse who had been lumped on as his great run of form continues. Unfortunately, the result of the Midlands National could not live up to the positivity of the first two races and ended in abject failure. We've had a long hard look at Chepstow and Hunting... A frankly disappointing end to the Cheltenham Festival yesterday despite a winner in the last race. We'll cover off "all things Cheltenham" on Tuesday, the good bit, the bad bits, the very bad bits, the frustrating bits and how we may optimise Ante Post in the future. The Midlands National is always the highlight of the "day after Cheltenham" - this year the meeting is on desperately heavy ground and actually the handicap hurdle that precedes it, may be a more interesting race. It's highly ... [Read More]

After a disappointing start yesterday in the first main tip race where only Emitom ran with any real credit to finish 6th at 25/1,it was great to see the confidently tipped Shakem Up' Arry storm up the hill to win at 8/1 SP having been advised at 10/1. An excellent run too from Git Maker in the final race who was beaten only by the hot near Odds on favourite, with Git Maker returning Odds of 28/1 SP and with us also seeing Where It All Began and Daily Present placed. In the other races we f... A lot to take in yesterday, not the least a win for LANGER DAN, not tipped on the day due to Going concerns but foremost in our early Cheltenham Trackers and Ante pOst thoughts. Shanbally Kid and Franciscan Rock at big advised prices and very decent SP prices ran excellent races to finish in the first 5, with Black Bamboo finishing 6th. In the other tip race a very good run from Liberty Hunter to finish runner up with Path D'Oroux also placed and once again we just missed a Skelton winner on Goi... [Read More]

It all felt a bit flat and predictable watching from the TV at Cheltenham yesterday and that seemed to be the general vibe. Good to win The Ultima and great to see one of the underrated jockey's in David Bass get a moment in the spotlight. Terrible to see the sad fate that befell the Fergal O'Brien yard with Highland Hunter, one of the sports good guys and thoughts with them. Ose Partir also lost his life and thoughts with all connections there too.  Overall day one is always the ... [Read More]

There are a couple of decent Handicap Hurdle races at Taunton on Good to Soft ground that have 15-16 runner fields that will deliver some enhanced place opportunities. A very poor day in terms of results at face value yesterday, a couple had legitimate reasons we think for running so poorly, one PU after a jumping error and another hampered and lost momentum and also PU but not the kind of day we like in a spell where very very little seems to be clicking. Every day though is a new opportunity to kick-start some good form and the obvious highlights today are The Imperial Cup and a good Novice Handicap Final at Sandown Park. There are a few interesting ang... [Read More]

Good Morning; There are very few realistic punting options again today. We looked long and hard at a couple of 2 mile Handicaps over the JUmps but both look very likely to be top of the market dominated and a look at the AW drew the same conclusions. No point in "guessing". We looked longest at the 5.30 at Newcastle but very strong claims for around 6 of the 11 runner field and most of them with very solid Course and Distance form, so way too tough to be confident. There are a few... There are 2 Meetings today following the early abandonment of Fontwell, a National Hunt Fixture at Catterick with very small fields and an AW Fixture at Kempton where by far the most competitive race of the day is the final race of the day, so let's have a bash!Back with more tomorrow and on Friday some final Cheltenham Ante Post thoughts and confirmations as we will by then hopefully have a pretty accurate weather outlook from a weather expert.  [Read More]

Good morning; A very disappointing day at Leopardstown yesterday once again. It's been a tough February in the main, it seems to be a trend over the past few years and whilst we normally have a very strong Cheltenham to banish the blues, it doesn't hide the fact that results have simply not been acceptable of late. We will have the usual National Hunt review and take learnings forward after Cheltenham and  Aintree and having had a successful overall 2023 Flat Turf season we d... There are moderate field sizes at Southwell and PLumpton today over the JUmps and a non-descript AW Fixture at Wolverhampton. We seem to be finding some big priced horses on a Saturday that get well backed and finish runner up. For the second week running a similar scenario with Ginger Mail who was available at 40/1 in places when the tips went out and around 25-28/1 for a considerable part of the morning, ultimately a fine runner up at 16/1. Skycutter didn't run badly in third place/ The Doncaster race turned out to be very attritional on desperate ground and it's the sort of form that can be largely ignored as many w... [Read More]

We await Inspections at Newbury and Navan, there are a couple of 9 runner races at Newbury that we may have attacked so I will make them "Pointer" races (see below) and there is nothing really to note anyway today at Navan. It was always our intention to focus on the Grimethorpe at Doncaster and the Morebattle at Kelso, races in which we have had excellent big priced winners in the past few years, and we'll hope for more of the same today with both Courses reporting Good to Soft ground, Sof... We've been clamouring for some competitive Racing all week, and indeed for much of 2024, so with 3 AW Fixtures and an NH Fixture at Newbury actually offering something to get our teeth in to today, we'll have a bash on a couple of high Class AW Handicaps at Lingfield, a decent Handicap Hurdle over the sticks at Newbury and a competitive 2 mile AW race at Dundalk, where a couple of shrapnel bets at big prices carry an interesting degree of tipster confidence. National Hunt at Ludlow (small fields) ; Clonmel (inspection imminent) ; Wetherby (smallish fields and one double figure runner handicap discounted) and Taunton today and AW at Chelmsford. We did look at the 5.10 at Wetherby a 12 runner handicap, it's full of unexposed Handicap debutants in the main though and very little with experience who have Heavy ground form, so best left alone. There are a glut of more promising Trackers in the 7-8 runner fields to consider for those that like t... [Read More]

There is Racing over the Jumps today at Catterick and Leicester and AW at Southwell. Very small NH fields at Leicester, a couple of 12 runner handicaps at Catterick of which we'll attack the opening race on the Card. Nothing of interest at Southwell on the AW. We'll also have a look back at the weekend and a look ahead to Cheltenham. [Read More]

No great joy yesterday with just a place for Zwicky from the sole tip race. The NH Cards today at Bangor and Wincanton again deliver very poor field sizes, we will have a bash therefore at just the one race, the 10 runner North Wales National at Bangor. The AW Card at Kempton is similarly bereft of runners in the main. The long list fields for the Cheltenham Handicaps have now been published so we will start to look closely at them. The first phase will weed out the likely non - runner... [Read More]
