Friday 31st August

Good Morning

Before we look at today, and later on yesterday, a reminder that the tips for tomorrow (SATURDAY) will be mailed out at around 10.00pm this Evening, and the Office will be Closed tomorrow after 9.00am, to enable me to fulfil commitments in Eastbourne tomorrow.

There is Racing today at Hamilton; Sandown and Thirsk on the Flat, at Newcastle and Wolverhampton on the AW; at Bangor over the Jumps and Irish action too.

We have been slightly hampered by some issues with RACING POST Online this morning, thankfully most of the analysis was done last night. There are other Form-Card avenues, and some are half decent, but for the kind of in-depth form and visual race analysis we like to use, RP is streets ahead still. Sadly, it seems there is a real dog-fight going on there internally, with a deeply unpopular person in charge, and hopefully they will sort it out very soon; as the whole operation seems to be creaking!.

On to the Tips and Logic, a lot of races today, some big competitive fields, but a day when you could blow recent gains, so prudence is the by-word, until we get in to September when with ideal Going most likely, a lot of fresh and unexposed horses and options increasing on Flat and NH, we can really open the throttles again.

We have a tip from The Advisor in the big Handicap at Hamilton tonight and "mentions" at Thirsk and Bangor On Dee all with full analysis.

A decent day yesterday with DECIMA starting the day with a nice win at Carlisle and then a 1-2 at the same track with BEVERLEY BULLET and INTENSE STYLE obliging, I think the 3rd straight forecast in the past 5-6 days. I was kicking myself a bit as we had identified 4 horses and left 3rd place INEXES out of the suggested Tricast perm, I know a few had it based on mails and it paid a decent sum of just over £140. I was hopeful of a treble but the pair at Sedgefield promised a bit at various stages but failed to deliver. However, another clear sign of the vast improvement in form over the past few weeks and we end August in better spirits than at any time since mid June and really looking forwards to getting the hammer down in September.

A few have asked if I can put Alan's articles back up and we will do that later this morning in The Members Paddock and we will be back later this Evening with TIPS for Saturday at around 10.00pm.
