Sunday 19th August

There is Racing on the Flat today at Pontefract and over sticks at Southwell and also a Card in Ireland.

There is a decent Fillies Race at Pontefract, which we will attack and also a 3 mile Handicap Hurdle at Southwell, that may offer some value. We will also have a dabble with a couple of small unit reverse forecast suggestions at Southwell, all 4 horses were in our 2017/2018 NH winter Tracker, and all have running styles that may just deliver something on this track that suits prominent runners.

We had a cracking start to the day yesterday with a 1-2 from David with SQUATS and SABADOR in the big Handicap at Newbury, that ensured a nice net profit and was handy as the fate of 2 of David's picks in The Gt St Wilfred was sealed at the start with a stumble and a slip. The Daily Tips delivered a nice net profit too courtesy of MY AMIGO who was advised and available until mid morning at 14/1, making up for the frustration of a non runner from the same yard on Friday night. The other selections ran well enough to be strong "Tracker horses" for the next 2-3 runs with INEXES and ZZORO in particular ones to follow. The run of Showmethewaytoavarillo in the 6.10 at Chepstow was not unexpected as we pointed out in the Tricast perm, that just got done on the line at 10/1, although how we missed Fantasy Justifier, tipped 3 times before the drought, I'm not sure, and that is very frustrating, given the very detailed and comprehensive way in which we track horses.

Overall though a much better week, far more reflective of medium and long term SP2A form and no coincidence at all that it has come after a break in the intense heat and drought, and although we have another decent dry spell ahead, according to forecasts, it won't be anything like as sustained or hot, and in the next few weeks we will see the return of any Groundsmans best friend which is "Autumn Dew" - a superb watering system in dry weather, which SP2A regulars will know, we pay particular attention to, in September and October, in respect of Going Reports.

That's almost all for today, Kevin has the current Leader in the Golf but still a lot to finish 3rd Rounds and we also have a couple nicely placed in the top 10 to compete should Snedeker get fatigued on Day 4.

Back with more tomorrow.
