Thursday 10th January

Good Morning.

I think the general opinion is that today is a very moderate day of Horse Racing with National Hunt at Catterick (only 1 race with 8 runners all the rest fewer) and at Leicester, where small fields apart from one novice Race on Good to Firm Going. The AW racing at Southwell is short of runners (with 1 exception) and the best quality and numbers are at Chelmsford. There is normally a lull after lots of horses run in the final week of the year and New Years Day and that and a lot of NH Trainers doing annual "horse flu jabs" means we won't see much decent NH until Saturday.

The selected race yesterday turned in to a bit of a tragedy as the main tip DAMIER, who in fairness was never going well, was pulled up and reported by Racing Post as "fatally injured". Of the other pair Stonemadforspeed in 7th had another "off day" and perhaps the most interesting was GRAND ENTERPRISE who we mentioned as a horse to watch and track. A couple of highly respected scribes actually tipped the horse in the hours after we sent out our message,so the form angles were certainly spotted, the horse ran noticeably well to a point but then tired and was pulled up without exerting too much (broke blood vessel on previous run_ so whilst we can't be sure that the physical issues remain and neither sure that the mental scars of a crashing fall at Cartmel have yet been erased, certainly one to TRACK and keep an eye on, as more than a hunch it could "pop up" at nice Odds.

It really is unwise we think to tip today, quality and quantity aside, too many questions and too much of a leap of faith, even the Tracker horses offer little in the way of encouragement so we will draw stumps on the tips and here are Dark Horse, The Trackers and also Trainers "in form" for those that want to play them in accumulators or monitor as many tell us you are doing.
