Tuesday 27th November

There is National Hunt Racing today at Lingfield and Sedgefield. The older age Handicaps are all pretty small fields, and a shame that what could be a decent low Grade Handicap at Sedgefield is split in to 2 Divisions of 10 horses, which rather negates the value. Personally; I'd rather see a good 16-18 runner maximum field o such occasions, better punting mediums; but I do appreciate (especially this season with unusually firm Going) the need to get horses some track time.

All things considered, not a day for any confident thoughts or tips over the Jumps therefore. There is a lot of rain due, but both NH venues are forecast to get it from mid afternoon and that presents another "unknown". Our new AW expert is racking up the winners as he winds down his current contract elsewhere, he joins us from 1 January and despite efforts to get him sooner, we have to be patient I'm afraid. However; Michael, who has a bit of a love affair with the sand at Southwell, has a horse he feels pretty confident about today on the Fibresand, so we will go with that and an early look at Hereford, Wetherby and Punchestown declarations for tomorrow, looks a lot more promising, especially with so much rain about between now and then.

There is one selection therefore from Michael at Southwell.

That's all for today, plenty lined up for tomorrow in UK and Ireland and we will be back around 8.30am tomorrow morning.
