Wednesday 15th August

We sponsor our first ever race today, and whilst the 2.50 at Newton Abbot has cut up in to just a 5 runner affair; and concerns about that are more than mitigated by the fact that it is easily the best NH Race of the day in terms of quality and also by the fantastic customer service we have received so far from the Course; which is much appreciated. We will be entertaining around 15 Members of The Brixham Battery, a Military Museum charity, that we support, and amongst those will be some fantastic ex-servicemen. We will be joined by a few SP2A Members and David our Elite Tipster plus local celebrity and renowned Tipster Gary Priestley, who knows a few of The Battery boys, and will hopefully give them a few pointers along the way.

To clarify one point a few have asked about, sponsoring a race does NOT involve putting up the "prize money" for the race, that is provided by The Levy and Horse Racing Authorities; we do as sponsors have to pay a decent sum, but NO we won't be forking out over £11k in prize money!

Whilst our race is a small field affair, I was very interested in the 3.50 race with enhanced odds to 4th place and a big field; Robin (our NH expert who finished the 2017/2018 NH season with a fantastic record) fancies a few at Worcester; and we will also have a dabble in a race at Beverley, where the draw bias over the minimum trip, allied to one in my Tracker, might throw up a nice Tricast opportunity.

So tips from Placepotter at Newton Abbot, Robin covers 2 races at Worcester and we have a "mention" + Tricast Perm suggestion in a race at Beverley.

That's all for today and obviously The Office will be CLOSED early at around 10.00am. We had another frustrating day yesterday, with perhaps a slightly unlucky runner up at 9/1 with Methag and another race where both runners disappointed and that was exacerbated by the 3 "could be anything /dark horses" finishing 1-2-3 in the order predicted with Honourbound most impressive and the main pick Duration looking like it was just a one paced plodder needing further.

Hopefully the focus on the Jumps today will see us click and find the winner we need to kick-start us and failing that a barrage of placed horses, would at least be a nice return.

Back with more tomorrow and in the meantime, for those that have them, The Golf Tips for the increasingly impressive Kevin, will be out shortly.
