Wednesday 20th June

Good Morning.

A good start to Royal Ascot yesterday.

Lord Glitters ran a stormer for Elite Service in the opener finishing runner up at 22/1. The two Irish horses disappointed, can't say they went "too fast" as the first 2-3 furlongs did not look visually fast, may be they needed it to have been more steady fractions. Interesting that Accidental Agent beat Lord Glitters by 1/2 furlong at Ascot on 7 October 2017 over 7 furlongs, and again Course form holds up here. Spencer did nothing wrong on LG he rides Ascot as well as anyone, but he may just ponder how and if being drawn 6, it was wise to go for the Stands rail, when the winner and placed horses came more down the far (lower) side. I think a wall of horses dictated that's where he had to go, but if he'd held station he would have run a lot less far than the 1/2 length he lost by = fine margins!

Monarchs Glen advised at 12/1 then won the final race on Ascot's Day 1 Card given a lovely ride by Frankie Dettori, and for those who follow us and interact with us on Twitter, there was also a nice little bonus when my "fun 33/1 each way poke" in that race finished 3rd at 33/1 (Muntahaa). So, a very decent start to Royal Ascot for Michael and it doesn't get any easier with a 30 runner Handicap to crack today and the added pressure of trying to follow up his Mentor's 25/1 (SP) winner in the corresponding race last year! - no pressure there then!

The Daily Tips and Mentions had a decent day too, The Professor found The Armed Man; advised at 6/1 and won at 9/2 with a number of non runners so a Rule 4. I thought it was given a great tactical ride by young Paula Muir; who cleverly tacked the horse quickly to the middle/far side and won with a bit in hand. With a 14/1 mention (Sienna Says) and an 8/1 mention (Hitman) both placing, a nice day all round for us, after a few days break; good to carry on the good run from last Tuesday to Friday and long may it continue. We have 4 more days of Royal Ascot and then next week, a lot of enhancements to launch on the website and also a lot more about our Racing Club/Ownership plans.

The Elite Service focuses on the ROYAL HUNT Cup today and we also have a selection from The Professor.
