Work Watcher - Exeter 1.30 1 Woodford County 7/1 / 11 Finish The Story 12/1 - both each way

The long distance Chase over 30 furlongs at 1.30 is very intriguing, many come here with
proven ability bit have to prove they can stay this trip, the final climb here is steep and
very unforgiving and it is a track where WW always looks for proven stamina. He came up
with 4 options, (I talked him out of Barton Gift as I know from speaking to John about our
SP2A Horses on Wednesday that he thinks BG will need to run again) and WW ditched

Umberto D'Ollivate in favour of his 2 selections in the race. This is what WW says-:

"WOODFORD COUNTY won the race last year and is an out and out stayer, his best form
has been on Soft/Heavy but he has run well enough on Good to Soft to have no excuses
and if the frost has been in the ground for 3-4 days and is coming out it will be "dead"
Ground, they are likely to go a good gallop and I can see him being hunted round and
finishing as well as anything, I don't think the ground will be that firm that he will be run
off his feet". FINISH THE STORY has proven stamina for the trip and another from a
yard in great form, the mark looks ideal with a nice low weight and I have a view that
the handicap mark is a bit of a "plot" job for this race, he lacks the class of some of the
others but it is a race more likely to be won by a stout heart than pure class."
