Work Watcher - Kelso 2.20 1 Royale Knight - each way 6/1

The Borders National is likely to be a real slog in tacky ground and very few have
actually run over the extended 4 miles, let alone won over it. There is some real
potential in the likes of Kilbree Chief but ROYAL KNIGHT has won over Course
and Distance before, had a seasonal pipe-opener and although top weight is not
badly handicapped here. They will surely be aiming at Aintree again in April and
the reality is, a win here, sets the horse up nicely and assures a run as the mark
would go up to the mid 140's and they could then plan for the GN without needing
to chase a handicap mark rise in February or March and we are sure Dr Newland
has plotted this race as a target for a significant amount of time.
