Catterick 4.05

Catterick 4.05 5 All My Love @ 10/1 - 1/2 point each way tip + 10 Ingleby Hollow @ 14/1 - 1/4 point each way Mention (Lad / Coral 1-4)

A tricky heat and several have strong claims but niggles about the Going and that just put me off BE PERFECT; AL DESTOOR; meanwhile I think ARCHIPPOS is a spring horse and whilst RIVIERE ARGENTEE was a 20/1 winner for us here in May, I don't think it is up to repeating that in this company.

I was left with 3 of which I think VISITANT may just struggle with this trip in a race full of pace and on soft Going. ALL MY LOVE ticked every box and I kept coming back to it and hard to see it not running a big race as a Course and Distance winner, ideal conditions and still one of the most under-rated and outstanding Trainers on the circuit. I can also see INGLEBY HOLLOW running a big race and at double the odds of a consistent horse like Al Destoor, the value was the cincher and if they do go off a Yard too fast INGLEBY HOLLOW has plenty of 14 furlong stamina to call on and could flash home late.

That's all for today, if you fancy another one at Ascot who could "pop up" at nice Odds I think it is HYDRANGEA in the 2.40 race. Otherwise outside of the 2.00 and 4.30, it looks hard to see past the obvious ones, although this meeting MUST always come with a "health warning" about backing Flat horses who have had a long season, many on very Firm Going and equating that to Autumn soft ground form. I remain utterly convinced that this Fixture, laudable as it has become is held 4-5 weeks TOO LATE.
