I am kicking myself for missing a 16/1 winner from the Mackie yard yesterday as it is one you know welike to follow. We tipped HALLSTATT last time he ran at around 16/1 advised and he came home at a cracking SP of 14/1.
He loves Newcastle and clearly likes the Tapeta here and at Wolverhampton. A 3lbs rise is frankly generous as he won off
61 here last time and has won off 63 at Wolverhampton. At 5/1 to 11/2 he looks good "win bet" value and if you want a place
saver on him, feel free to do so. Luke Morris again rides. We also backed him here when he was an unlucky 4th a while back
at 25/1, when he finished like a train, that race was won by Jan Smuts off a mark of 57, the fact JS gets in here off a mark
of 50, with an outstanding Course jockey booked, is too good to ignore, so we will have 1/2 point each way on him too at 12/1
(One other race to mention is the 5.45, we tipped Chancery last time and he was only beaten by a clutch of improving 3 year olds;
he does appeal again here at 25/1 but has disappointed on Tapeta, may be worth just a few bob as is the equally well treated
Airton who is a CD winner, but the general view would be no more than a few pounds tops; just to cover 2 very well handicapped horses).
