THIRSK 5.05 Mon Beau Viasge - 1/2 point each way @ 10/1 (SkyBet odds to 5th - all other to 4th place)

A very competitive race over a mile and O'Meara has an unexposed 3 year old currently favourite and a few others including MON BEAU VIAGE. Class 4 seems his bag and despite top weight here is well handicapped. Back on same win mark as a win in August 2017, a series of competent runs waiting for the mark to come down, won't mind the cut in the ground and a decent Claimer booked to make the mark look very appealing. Is well drawn in Stall 6 and the type of strong running horse that tends to thrive down this long straight. Will be disappointing if not in contention for one of the first 4 - 5 places at least, and interesting it comes here and not one of the York handicaps. The Course specialist Mango Chutney is also a nice price but I just have a feeling 7 furlongs is its optimum trip.
