AYR - 3.35 8 KUPA RIVER - 1/2 point each way @ 9/1 (PP go 12/1 but 2 we were keen on Manshood and My Name is Rio are n/r and PP are out of line on price)

CARLISLE 3.20 11 CLIFF - 1/2 point each way @ 20/1 (WH + BV + Sky) - Lads + Coral + Sky go odds to 4th - use Sky if you can + 16/1 generally

NOTTINGHAM 8.20 7 Captain Sedgwick - 1/2 point each way @ 10/1 generally

The Mentions Logic-:

KUPA RIVER drops significantly in trip and although on pedigree it looks a strange move it is a horse that pulls to the front and tends to fade over trips from 6 furlongs to a mile. A draw in stall 5 should allow it to get the rai with a usually fast start and it is an interesting angle from an in form and talented Trainer to "have a bash". If it runs its usual race, it should be able to go flat out for these 5 furlongs, hit the winning line at the point where it usually fades, the big question is, has it got the tactical speed versus 5 furlong specialists, only one way to find out!

CLIFF is a speculative punt in a very tight race, it's form figures though here are compelling other than its debut, has come 2nd off 67, 1st off 65; 2nd off 65;3rd off 64 and 3rd off 64 on last 5 (of 6) career visits, it is drawn high here, an asset I think, has 4th run of season and won off 4th run last season and arrives off a mark of 60 with a 7lbs Claimer up; who knows the horse!

Finally, another of those I had a small share of and knowledge of, the last 2 of these types Sexy Secret 16/1 and Whitecrest 20/1 both WON last week, so lets go for the hat-trick with CAPTAIN SEDGWICK; won for us over a mile last year at Ffos Llas off 45; a stunning run and probably most famous for an hilarious post race interview from one of the then syndicate Members on ATR; but the horse has always had ability; needed seasonal debut, will love the long straight here and runs off 47 with Jane Elliott who knows the horse, taking 3lbs off.

Those are the speculative "mentions" for today, lets hope for a few juicy places at least.
