SNOWED IN - Carlisle 1.40 is reunited with Thomas Dowson whose sole ride on the horse so far resulted in a win. Has a knack of winning on New Years Day (as Members will recall) and is back within a pound of that winning mark. Is a Course and Distance winner, relatively fresh but tuned up after a few recent runs, the last of which showed indications that it's turn may again be near, I'd expect it to be aimed at New Years Day 2019 (again) so this could be a race they have targeted before a short rest. This is a tough uncompromising track and suits the horses galloping style perfectly and looked nice each way Odds on a day not abundant with obvious chances.

Elsewhere our old favourite CAPATAIN SEDGEWICK gets a hood to try to concentrate her is the 1.30 at Brighton, she remains enigmatic but may be worth a small each way poke. At very big odds in that race is MIMRAM - Dean Ivory had a nice winner for us last week and his horses have been running better than most of the season. This one has apparently got regressive AW form but one only turf run was runner up to an improving horse of Ralph Beckett who has gone on to frank the form. At big odds one of the few we could find who may outrun odds with some logic based on return to turf.

LETEMGO (Carlisle 4.20) was possibly our NH horse of last season, a classic case of perseverance paying off and winning us a sack-full, one we will watch again this winter but today's trip is too short and looks like a pipe-opener and at Uttoxter in the 5.05 the frustrating PSHCHOCANDY again looks to have a great chance but at the short price it is, really not one to trust in any way shape or form. It could sluice up but always one that finds a way to lose rather than win!
