FFOS LLAS 3.45 4 Daily Trader @ 12/1 + 14 Duration @ 7/1 - 1/2 point each way each horse and Ladbrokes / Coral + SkyBet go odds to 4th place.

The ongoing intrigue between unexposed and potentially improving 3 year olds and those a bit more established and experienced. At the head of the market come the former and of those Honourbound ; Time To See and Pepper Street could all be in the "be anything category". Honourbound has run well at the trip on AW but not really proven at it on turf; Time To See won lto on soft turf off 62, but pedigree does not immediately suggest this step up to 12 furlongs and Pepper Street has pulled at shorter and has a 10f pedigree too.

Of the younger ones I most like DURATION whose pedigree cries out the need for the trip; has form on soft in bloodlines and from a Yard who like to bring them on slowly but surely and I think the 7/1 is good value and the long straight will play to stamina lines. Of the more exposed types Hawridge Glory usually prefers shorter trips and the one who jumped off the page a little was DAILY TRADER who has won at the trip on the All Weather off a mark of 65, staying on strongly; has decent Turf form on soft and a tendency to miss the break over shorter and finish well. This Course may play to "hold up" strengths and Class 6 off a mark of 63 looks bob on his perfect scenario and an interesting Jockey booking takes a few more pounds off. The enhanced odds with 3 major Bookies, adds to the value angle.

NOTTINGHAM 6.35 11 Affair @ 11/2 + 3 Methag @ 9/1 - 1/2 point each way each horse

Another 3 year old v more exposed battle and in this case Burn Some Dust; The Pinto Kid and Hazarfan could be very unexposed improvers but I can't find any reason to think any are great value in the market upped to 14 furlongs on any proven form. Of the remainder, old HALLSTATT is always a danger here and has done us many good turns over the years and INCUS has decent form at the trip and De Souza booked, but hard to get away from the fact it is 9-10 lbs above it's normal optimum operating mark.

So we will turn to AFFAIR who won a Redcar race at this trip on soft Going off a mark of 52 and gets an interesting 54 here, the proven capability over trip and on the Going looks a big asset especially down the long Nottingham straight. The other one with something to hang on to in terms of proof in the race conditions is METHAG a Class 5 winner at Doncaster at this trip off a mark of 61; won that very nicely and although off 67, was operating in the mid 70's at decent Courses in better races than this, not so far back. All its best form is left handed on tracks with long galloping straights; and that's the value angle with this one.
