Friday 17th December

A better day for us yesterday with a couple of well backed horses whose prices held up long enough for most of you hopefully to "get on" at nice Odds delivered some profit.

It's quite unusually actually for our tips to be backed heavily elsewhere, we've always tried to keep off the radar and usually any big plunges have been when one of the paper / social media big hitters has picked something a few hours after us, and in the case of Exeter yesterday, our experts are based in that neck of the woods so do have an angle on the pulse that can get translated in to late Course money too.

Captain Tommy a Tracker tip advised at 33/1 ran well to finish 4th (industry standard place as 17 ran) at 14/1 and it was great to see the confidence in Puzzle Cache (who had disappointed last week, but with good reason as we'd explained and genuinely felt), rewarded with a fine win, advised at 18/1 and widely available at double figure Odds until just before the off and winning at 9/1, and another one for Robin who after a break in the middle of the year is in a spell of very good sustained form at the moment.

There is NH at Ascot today, another bloody diabolical set of entries though I have to say in terms of runners aside from the opening race that looks very tricky, a competitive Card at Uttoxeter has much bigger fields and offers more punting opportunities and the usual Friday AW Cards.

We'll have a punt at a couple of Class 5 big field Handicaps at Uttoxeter and again have to question just how long the powers that be can sustain big Levy investment in to NH around the M25 higher graded London tracks like Ascot / Kempton and Sandown when that investment could be far better spent on proper NH Tracks around the Country that epitomise exactly what NH is and does best, places like Hexham; Kelso; Ludlow; Uttoxeter, Exeter etc....if the toffs don't want NH racing on their doorstep, invest in those places where is still holds great support.
