Friday 26th February

We will focus today on the NH Meetings at Exeter and Warwick.

A few dry days, some spring sunshine and quickly drying ground, how things can change so quickly. It may be an interesting period as the ground dries out and we see some horses who have been kept off the rain soaked, or frost affected heavy Going, bring a new form perspective and angle to proceedings.

Hopefully "low sun" won't spoil the big race of the day, The Devon National at Exeter, I'm not sure that race-planners ever learn, IF low sun does affect this race they will only have themselves to blame for scheduling it at the worst possible time!. There is also a Hands and Heels Handicap Hurdle at Warwick, those races aren't everyone's cup of tea, but looking back over what is a small sample, we do seem to have a knack of finding those horses whose running style is best suited to the conditions of these races.

So as I'm in the seat for Jonathon for a few days, it's Placespotter day and hopefully the form eyes are in and well targeted.
