Friday 27th August

A poor run on the Flat at Carlisle yesterday by Flying Moon, really had no excuses other than the Jockey indicating to the Stewards that the horse was "never travelling" and a slow start may have done for the horse mentally. A much better run from COUNTISTER who led over the last but who was just done for stamina and turn of foot in the last 100 yards up the deceptively steep final incline. Certainly the analysis of the extra 1/2 mile being worth trying was a good spot and this one can be competitive at 18-20 furlongs possibly on a flatter Track and certainly one to add to your Trackers.

PLenty of Racing today, again not really inspiring field sizes and with nothing of note in Ireland there is a good quality Class 3 Handicap at Thirsk to attack.
