Royal Ascot Day 4 - Friday 18th June

A very poor outcome yesterday, undone by a Draw bias that turned on its head from the final few races the day before, more due possibly to pace angles than the track. The one drawn high was too fizzy early and although a couple drawn low were amongst the best on that side, in reality their fate was sealed at the 3 furlong pole.

The massive unknown today is the rain, there could be random heavy showers or just as likely some very heavy and continual rain. Way too risky to really dive in too much, so we'll have a play on the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes at 5.35 where a number have soft ground credentials.

We should certainly have a better overview of Going for tomorrow when David will attack the big Handicap and we'll look at a couple of other race
