Saturday 30th April

A day when we go from famine to feast in terms of the number of big-field races to attack. It's still early season though on the Flat and although its a new season over the Jumps, we all know that in reality many horses come straight off a tiring NH season that only finished a few days ago, so we'll tread carefully and try to cherry pick the best options.

There is an excellent Card at Newmarket and the focus is on the 2000 Guineas so we'll cover that but the excellent Sprint Race at 1.50 looks to be too tricky to call. Nothing jumps off the page at Goodwood or Doncaster, not indeed today at Punchestown (a few Tracker angles there though at the bottom) but the Hunt Cup at Thirsk looks a cracker and plenty of value in a couple of long distance Handicap Hurdles at Hexham and Uttoxeter.
