Sunday 11th April

NO TIPS / SELECTIONS today

The outcome of yesterday will depend on access to various Bookmakers and Offers.

Everyone should have had a 14/1 place SP with Ashtown Lad in the 1.45 and some will have had a nice 33/1 each way tickle on Stoney Mountain courtesy of Skybet.

Similarly in The National, everyone should have been paid a small place return on Burrows Saint, a few will have been paid a small place return on Discorama, although in that race it would only marginally offset overall losses.

The Irish domination carried over from Cheltenham over the 3 days at Aintree. There are many factors, quality over quantity of Racing in Ireland, access to the best of the current P2P and NH breeding Stock, big bucks via 2 massive Ownership operations. It should also be noted that the Irish Trained and ridden horses simply appear to be wiser and smarter to conditions and how to optimise chances. No point sat out the back over the past 3 days and the Irish horses were I would suggest ridden with far greater tactical nous!

On to today and whilst there is plenty of action, some changing weather conditions from The Midlands and North in The UK and some similar possible changes in Ireland make it hard to access Going. The weather seems set very fair and settled for the next week to 10 days at least. We'll therefore gravitate from this week over to The Turf Flat and pick up the better quality NH Meetings still to come in the UK and Ireland.

We can't find anything of particular note of market value with any degree of confidence today so will be back in the Morning at the usual time shortly before 8.30am.

It remains to be seen what happens with some excellent Saturday Cards next weekend in the light of the announcement of the Funeral of Prince Phillip at 3pm next Saturday. Given the connection to him and the family to Horse Racing it's hard to assess what the right call might be, so we'll have to wait and see.

Back tomorrow.
