Sunday 22nd November

It's always nice to report a healthy Saturday net profit.

David found Third Wind a runner up at 6/1, and an enhanced and very nice 20/1 5th place in West To The Bridge in a race with the winner winning its 9th successive race, unheard of in modern times and a throwback to the great Handicap Training performances of the past, for a genuinely resurgent Pipe team.

Our Power was 3rd at a nice each way 10/1 for Robin in a race where many near the front were hampered and quite possible Arriverdaci would have won if staying upright. The best came last though and what a wonderful horse Perfect Candidate is, again you could say that better horses may have fallen in the race, but you only win by completing and the old boy stayed on strongly down the long straight that suits him, and who's to say if conditions are similar this time next year, he won't come back and do the same again.

Overall a good day and we move on to another competitive day of Racing.

Nothing from Sean today who looked long and hard at Cards at Cork and Navan and in the main bemoans no real big field long distance handicaps over Hurdles or Fences apart from the 2.55 at Navan where O'herewego @ 16/1 and Tokyo Getaway @ 7/1  are the nearest he came to tips/trackers but on balance a tricky race best left to  a bit of shrapnel.

On to the tip races then at Exeter and Uttoxeter.
