Sunday 27th September

So near and yet so far yesterday, those that followed the advice to back to 8th place with Sky or 7th with PP yesterday will have had a decent enough each way return with Bell Rock 3rd at 10/1, Dubai Mirage 5th at 16/1 and Anythingtoday 7th at 18/1 in The Cambridgeshire. The only tip that didn't deliver something was the token low draw tip Montatham.

I know a small few read the advice and made their own decision about the Draw and had a few quid on the 40/1 winner Majestic Dawn highlighted in the final paragraph as the one just left out of the final four, and I know that some take umbrage when we suggest using Sky or PP when they have "odds to ridiculous places" and will not have "got on" on the 7th placed horse at all as a result, but when a Bookie offers something on a plate in a near 30 runner race, our logic is and always will be that we have to try to take advantage of it.

So, a day when Elite made net a few points each way profit (about 4.5 points to SP) to mitigate a 4 point loss of Daily Tips (although Luckofhtedraw ran very well for a long way and one to closely follow), I think "so near and yet so far" is probably the best way of summing the day up.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained let's look at a couple of 5 furlongs Sprints today at The Curragh and Musselburgh where the Draw must surely again be a factor (we hope).
