Sunday 3rd January

A nice return yesterday with 2 winners from the pair of selected races.

Having found a runner up and third in his first appearance our new AW Tipster went one better with a winner Subliminal (advised 7/1 won 5/1) and an enhanced place with Uther Pendragon and some pretty accurate analysis of the race. We'll use him sensibly and sparingly as both races were at his favourite track of Lingfield and partially due to some good reading of the excellent current form of Simon Dow. Confidence is key though in this game, and always good to get off to a decent start, as opposed to playing "catch up". Long way to go though obviously.

David doesn't always get the rewards his outstanding in depth analysis of a big race deserves, I've yet to find anyone better in terms of covering every horse in a big race, so great to see another excellent result with his confident pick Seeyouatnight winning at 10/1 having been advised at 16/1, clearly as David had summarised, laid out for the race and a worthy winner.

We move on today to Plumpton who stage The Sussex National, and Catterick, where heavy overnight rain should turn the Going a fair bit heavier than advertised. Nothing of note at Fairyhouse for Sean and as we have stated a number of times, Southwell AW really would be a desperate resort in the midst of little else being available..
