Sunday 5th December

A frustrating day for us yesterday when we were left really feeding off scraps.

In the big race The Beecher Chase, both Le Breuil and Vieux Lion Rouge both neither really got in to any kind of rhythm and were looking uncomfortable early off a decent pace, Kimberlite Candy ran a decent enough race tiring in to 7th and if you did have a punt with Sky or WH you'll have got a bit of shrapnel but we'll class it a loser as indicated on the staking guide. Those who like their shrapnel bets will have enjoyed good runs from Achille and Didiero Vallis in to 5th and 6th places.

Kateson ran well from the front and richly deserved a 12/1 place, Ballyandy again may have rewarded those betting with Sky with a 5th place at 11/1 (again we won't count that) and it was very frustrating that Carys Commodity was taken out of the race due to deteriorating Going and that is one we'll keep a very close eye on.

Over in Ireland where Elliott had a 7 timer we weren't on the right one at bif odds but the shrapnel bet on The Jam Man paid out a very nice 33/1 place return.

So not too far away and a few scraps for some but overall a disappointing Saturday.

There is NH at Huntingdon, Kelso; Cork and Punchestown today. I think we'll need to be a bit innovative with staking as the market leaders look very strong in the bigger field races but our Tipsters have suggestions as to how we can try to cover those off with some speculative bigger priced single bets too.
