Thursday 16th December

There's no hiding place when a horse makes a Tipster look like a mug by finishing stone last and pace awareness is often a major contributory factor. They can either go off too fast and throw away all chances like we saw yesterday with Kalanoura who ran too fresh and prominently (not for the first time) and may need dropping in trip, and we also saw a regular pace related gripe the day before when running prominently was the key to winning races and our selections tried to buck the trend. You do wonder with some jockey's if they ever walk a Course or watch early races to pick up on best tactics on the day in the conditions? Certainly Kalanoura has an engine, they just need to find the best way to optimise it, so may be well worth tracking at Dundalk especially if dropped a few furlongs to around 13/14 furlongs next time.

There is NH at Exeter; Ffos Llas and Naas today and AW at Southwell and Chelmsford, there are a couple of competitive races at Exeter for Robin and The Advisor to attack, plus a significant number of horses in the Tracker pop up today, so at the end, I'll be suggesting a small Unit Lucky 15 type e/w bet as if they all dropped in to even enhanced places may pay a nice pre-Christmas return.
