A decent enough day at Fontwell yesterday, eventually!

 

Waikiki Waves toiled for much of its race but grabbed a 4th place that a few may have been paid out on if taking the offer from SkyBet that we highlighted, although I'm not 100% sure if non runners would have affected that.

 

We had a non runner in the 4.23 race (The Premier Celtic) but we did nominate a reserve, in the event of a non runner, as it had been hard to split Hier Encore and Good News, and that proved correct on the Track as both were delivered very late with Good News just beating Hier Encore. I am aware from messages that some were on both, I'm equally aware that some were not, as they placed bets before work, and of course would have returned to find a non runner and a runner up. It's hard to please everyone all of the time, and impossible to cover all angles, but on the few occasions we do nominate a non runner backstop/reserve, like yesterday, it's invariably because it is very well fancied and just missed out on final selection.

 

On to today and plenty of action on the Flat (Turf and AW) and Jumps in UK and Ireland. It still seems that whilst some places are getting very heavy rainfall, others are still seeing Good and Good to Firm Going, so we'll leave ludlow alone and focus on a race each at Carlilse (Good with a bit of cut) and Lingfield (Good to Soft possibly Softer in reality)...
