Thursday 6th January

Both Echo Watt and Petite Power ran well enough in defeat at Ffos Llas yesterday running 4th and 5th after being prominent most of the way. Can't fault the runs of either and both are worth keeping an eye on in similar races and conditions as their marks may fall a few more pounds.

Robin's logic paid off handsomely with PAGEANT MATERIAL winning nicely at 12/1 and one aspect that heavy ground offers is the fact that you can look closely for that kind of unexposed P2P or heavy Going form that lurks in the past. It's an angle we have exploited in the past and will keep persevering with. I know from messages that many of you had a nice little touch on that one some at bigger odds.

We'll continue to monitor AW and we'll only use it if there is a sudden weather deterioration that impacts on the Jumpers, our AW expert is watching Newcastle and Lingfield very closely now should the need arise to step in with some AW tips and suggestions.

There are some decent races at Chepstow and Clonmel today, nothing long distance but we've got fancied ones at each venue where the going is Heavy and likely to get heavier at Chepstow in particular with a threat of more heavy rain during the afternoon.
