Tuesday 11th August

There are some decent races at Haydock today but concerns about the accuracy of weather forecasts and Going at a track that usually makes a right horlicks of Going reports anyway. The Going has been changed from Good to Firm to Good and hard to know what it is exactly. We did look long and hard at the long distance Handicap at 5.30 and would advise a "watching brief" and to track after today a horse called Night of Glory, moved from Andrew Balding to Iain Jardine, who usually does well with such types, may just need this run though.

So, up to the West of Scotland to PERTH. Similar scenario re possibility of storms and we are basing assessment of the Going not being any firmer than the advertised Good to Soft, possibly softer and will have a couple of Tracker darts
