Tuesday 29th September

Good Morning;

A poor day yesterday.

You can't legislate for a pair of well fancied and well back horses finishing stone last, and near stone last. In both instances there were legitimate reasons reported by Jockey's afterwards, Smeatin anticipated the start and banged it's head on the stalls and lost many lengths and Percy Street apparently swallowed some mud and gurgled.

Genuine excuses, but in the Tipping world, excuses are just that excuses.

A lot of runners today on Flat Turf, National Hunt and AW both sides of the Irish Sea but a forensic analysis of all likely races by our Tipsters could find nothing of sufficient confidence or value.

We are seeing a lot of tired Flat horses now, probably more so that usual as a 6 month season has been condensed in to 4 months and a number of NH horses who will probably benefit from a run. There seems to be a very wet and windy outlook for the next 2-3 weeks, and that will definitely give us some interesting form and value angles to exploit.

So, a day for our notebooks to be at the ready to hopefully fire in a very strong start to October.

We'll be back to have another look tomorrow with Huntingdon (if fields don't get too small) and Punchestown, of major interest.
