Wednesday 3rd October
There is Flat Racing at Nottingham and Salisbury today a host of 2 year old races and some big field series Finals and a lot of tired horses who have been running all season in those Finals. There is NH at Bangor and AW at Newcastle and a Flat Irish Fixture at Cork.
We looked at Nottingham and Salisbury but the field and competitive handicaps at Nottingham look just too tricky and too many tired horses to bet with confidence, and draw issues at Salisbury; we'd normally look low, but as the ground firms can go the other way, again add too much uncertainty there.
It feels like a day to watch rather than bet and so we have just the one selected race, a Novice Chase at Bangor.
We had another nice winner on Tuesday from 2 selected TIP races with REDARNA advised at 10/1, the Course and Distance form of the horse, as we focussed on, a big asset.
In the other race Granny Roz was a non runner, Zebulon ran better than the odds suggested finishing in 6th place. We had a nice placed effort from a couple of the "paper trading" tips too and Ian will update you tomorrow afternoon about a couple of those who will be joining the Tipster panel to cover AW this winter.
I will be back with tips in the morning before 8.30am
