Wednesday 4th May

A mixed day yesterday both in terms of results and emotionally.

Goodnight Charlie ran well enough to finish 4th and just out of the places at Fakenham, Supreme Escape though, usually a consistent horse had one of those days where he never went a yard and was pulled up. At Wetherby Hostelry ran as well as we could have hoped finishing a good runner up at 9/1 and it was not a surprise to see Highland Reel finish well for 4th at 22/1 and if you had a few quid in running then a nice run for your money.

Sadly one of the long term Trackers Elkstone, who we rarely tip but who has been a great servant to racing paid the ultimate price and our thoughts with all connected with the horse.

Day One at Chester today where the highlight is the Cheshire Oaks and there is also a nice 7 furlong Handicap to close a Card that is again a bit short on runners. The same applies pretty much everywhere but some rain is again due and that will hopefully be matched by an increase in Entries over the next few days.
