Chester 3.35

Chester 3.35 16 Sir Chauvelin @ 20/1 / 10 Yourkidding @ 16/1 - both each way

(SkyBet go odds to 6th place ; all others to 4th)

One of the great traditional Handicaps the Chester Cup is always a huge puzzle and
it goes without saying, despite being over 2 1/4 miles and 3 laps of the track, a low draw is a distinct
advantage. That's why the likes of Blakeney Point is favourite and others I considered were Golden
Spear, Nakeeta (great race record); The Cashel Man and Sea Of Heaven but I think the value is elsewhere.
SkyBet offer odds to 6th and at that enhanced position I really like YORKIDDING, who is race fit; has a
nice low draw, Course form and Course specialists in Mark Johnson and Richard Kingscote. I was tempted
to double up with the other Johnson horse Watersmeet but; he has not run here before and that just puts
me off, I think he is sure to place at least but SIR CHEUVELIN catches my eye from a middle draw;
where he should be able to run midfield and mark the leaders. The Yard is on fire and he strikes me
as a horse with a bit of scope to improve upped to this trip with ideal conditions, so he gets the nod
with Watersmeet my third choice should either tip be a late non runner.
