Aintree 3.40

Aintree 3.40 3 Oldorangewood @ 11/1 / 9 On Tour @ 12/1 - both 1/4 point each way

(Skybet go odds to 5th - all other Bookies odds to 4th)

Another big field Handicap over The Mildmay Course and a trip again of over 3 miles. This track takes some jumping and also the
horse will need some proven stamina. The likes of Pearl Swan have potential but may need another run, Rocklander is a fantastic
prospect but lacks the experience of some and Trainer form is a niggle. Thomas Patrick is hot favourite and may well win but not
great value and a hunch it may prefer more galloping and open spaces in this company. The likes of Visconte De Noyer and Wakanda
should be involved but I kept coming back to the same three. The CLASS of the race is IBIS DU RHEU and I would not put anyone

off a "win saver" but I will add to TRICAST PERM along with Thomas Patrick. My 2 selections though both look cracking e/w value.

OLDORANGEWOOD is lightly races, a 3 mile Point 2 Point winner soft Going is fine and if we ignore a horrid run at The Festival; holds
very good form claims and I've thought for a while ready to exploit potential at this trip, which its background suggests will be optimum.
ON TOUR is a Course specialist, runner up and winner here on last 2 visits over 2 and a half miles and I think betting does assume
that is its trip and will struggle over extended 3 miles. It may do but if you look back far enough you will find a 3 mile Point 2 Point
win as a much younger horse. Off a mark of 137 it is well handicapped and you can always pose the question; has it been kept to
shorter whilst winning, and is the step up not now entirely logical?, if it runs a big race, many may look back at that old P2P form
and question why??? (did I not spot that); with the Course form, I'm ready to have a small punt!
