Boxing Day - Kempton Trackers

MICHAEL - Kempton 3.40 Handicap Hurdle Class 3 2 miles 5 furlongs (16 run) Soft

The last race on the Card so the Going likely to be cut up and therefore a real test of stamina.

There are some potentially very good handicap debutants and inexperienced types at the head of the market and while any one of 4-5 could be a real dark horse and hiding untapped potential it's likely most will not have experienced this type of big field race in mud and I doubt any will be "bottomed out".

There is a nice prize to win and therefore I will have a bash with 2 more exposed types near the bottom of the betting market who have bits of proven form that make them of interest in these conditions.

CAPTAIN TOMMY has won on heavy Going, won at the trip and looks nicely weighted here to run a race better than Odds suggest. GORTROE JOE has been very disappointing of last with the glimmer of the ability that is there evidence only on its penultimate run. The Skeltons however are excellent at placing horses in the right race at the right time and he could have gone for any number of easier looking prizes over the holiday period. The trip and Going are fine as is the handicap mark and I hope for an improved run.

TRACKER - 9 Captain Tommy @ 20/1  + 16 Gortroe Joe @ 25/1  - both 1 point each way.

Elsewhere at Kempton in the 2.30 I think Ballyandy worth a small nibble at excessive Odds.
