Haydock 3.30

A Class 5 race but above average fro Grade as we start to see 3 year olds who get handy weight allowances stepping up more to all age races. Tom Dascombe runs three, more of that in a second. A few of the 13 runners catch the eye, GLOBAL SPIRIT has been in good form and can be excused when running twice in 2 days recently for a bad run, VALLEY OF FIRE has Course and Distance winning form, but that was back in it's days with William Haggas and now looks regressive. LADY OF ARRAN * (see Tracker) has pulled too hard at a mile and been held up at 6 furlongs, this could be the right trip for in form Charlie Fellowes and one for a small Tracker nibble and Tricast Perm.

The pair of DASCOMBE who has a great Course record I like are MICKEY - probably the one to beat here and a WIN saver bet, has good Course form off a nice mark but stable mate SIR VICTOR looks a cracking each way bet despite Stall 13. Best form is at this trip when running prominently and they have dallied with longer trips but looks like that is more to get the Handicap mark back down to a level it can win from, coincidental it turns up here, dropped in Grade and at right trip off last win mark, certainly not coincidental, and looks a bit of a plot to me.!!
