Musselburgh 2.30

Musselburgh 2.30 -: The draw (high) is a factor here but can impact on the betting market and a donkey drawn high, is still a donkey in the context of the race. I think there is market value in a few of these although in the case of CORTON LASS that may already have vanished from 16/1 down to 8/1, not sure if its the Dalgleish factor or some popular Twitter type tipster but i will leave that one out of deliberations as could go off at about 5/1 at this rate.

THORNABY PRINCESS is a Course and Distance winner, drawn in stall 7 so handy if not perfect draw but no excuses from there. Has had a run and very much a basement level performer for a while but I do think its new Trainer is more capable than its former one and ran encouragingly on seasonal debut. GROUNDWORKER  is drawn in stall 5 and has also had a run, is actually on a very nice turf mark as ran well in better races than this off marks around 53 last summer and 48 looks very tempting, if there is a "class horse" relatively speaking in such a race its this one. The intriguing one for me is ARNOUL OF METZ a 6 furlong winner at Wolverhampton who has often run with promise to the furlong pole over 6 furlongs and then folded, it may be a stuffy horse in need of a wind operation, it may be a horse that flatters to deceive and its pedigree suggests this trip is on the short side, but if it can ping the stalls, and it does tend to run prominently; out of stall 10 and get the rail, it could get in to a rhythm that will have these "at it" and not many of these look up for a scrap.

Suggested bet is 1/2 point each way on GROUNDWORKER and ARNOUL OF METZ  and if you wish play with THORNABY PRINCESS in a Tricast Perm.
