Warwick 4.20

Warwick 4.20 - A Class 4 Handicap Hurdle over 3 miles and 2 Furlongs on what should be perfect Good ground with a bit of cut in it. I narrowed the 15 down to 5 but have to rule out Steel bob, winner at Plumpton last time, Marc Goldstein again rides but I always think he is worth 10lbs more as a rider round Plumpton than anywhere else. THREE STAR GENERAL and GOODNIGHT CHARLIE are both solid and consistent types who may be don't turn places in to wins as often as they should. Both are perfect TRICAST type horses but i think both are a bit the victims of consistency in terms of handicap mark.

I was most drawn to 2 horses who look to be running in to form after long lay-offs. Of these HASTRUBAL is back over Hurdles and looks to be coming in to best form but I just have a niggle about this trip which looks too far on all known form unless they do an absolute dawdle. If they pass the finish line with a circuit to go and there is no pace on, an "in-play" bet might be the perfect play. The one I most like though is DAN EMMETT who showed really positive signs last time, also not conclusive at this trip but has regularly run well over 3 miles and around that distance, before lay off and has been runner up off 120 and 4th in big field off 125 over this Course in past and comes here off a very juicy looking mark of 114. I would add Goodnight Charlie and Three Star General in to my simple Tricast Perm and if you want to; add Hastrubal to a few lines for a few quid,
