York 1.50

York 1.50 - A Class 2- 5 Furlong Sprint and on the Good to Firm Going likely to be run at a frenetic pace. This Course can suit front running types and slight preference on this kind of Going is for one drawn low. There are a few with sound claims who fit that bill, one that can run fast from the gate (but can also dwell) is TOMMY TAYLOR - if he pings the stalls could take a lot of catching down the far rail and I'm more sure he would be tough to beat than I am he will miss the kick or not, but can't ignore his chances at the Odds.

The Cowell trained Cowboy Soldier is all the rage but on Turf form and a complete lack of York form I am not convinced and I do think Cowell is a bit over-rated as a Trainer; yes he wins big Sprints but throws a lot of arrows and gets a lot of good horses who don't win. DARK SHOT is very inconsistent but was runner up in this last year and has to be feared. If it suits a hold up horse finishing fast I'd want to be on OPEN WIDE so that is in the Tracker, as is JUSTANOTHERBOTTLE who would be a definite tip but for a niggle about it being seasonal debut, won on first start in 2017 but needed it in 2018. Fooland is always worth a look but drawn high and something of an unexposed horse but one with a possible load of improvement is EH BAH GUM and that would be a most appropriate York winner prominent run style so could have the pick of the ground up the middle and a nice Course and Distance winner in the past.
