Beverley 2.56

PLACESPOTTER (Ian) - Beverley 2.56 - Class 6 - Handicap - 7 and 1/2 Furlongs - Good to Firm (Rain)

An early season contest, a lot come from the AW, only a few have really decent Turf form and a couple are proven over Course and Distance.

I narrowed it down to 4 and with many Bookies offering odds to 5th (check what Odds they offer if any non runners by time you back but I wager most will still go to 4th place); I think there is some each way value to be had.

Highland Reel will be a danger and is well tipped up. 3rd of 17 at Doncaster at this kind of Distance in an Amateurs race last time but the field wasn't great and the span in jockey ability quite marked. At the price i will just leave it out of tipping calculations, fear it of course and may be a nice addition to a Tricast Perm.

I anticipate and expect ANTAGONIZE to lead them a merry dance for a long way, it runs very freely, gets a mile on the AW and Graham Lee rides for Bryan Smart. Drawn in Stall 9 if it pings the traps will take some catching but could set the race up for a closer. I'm a bit surprised they haven't gone for visor, blinkers, tongue tie or some aid just to chill the horse a bit , that may indicate though that they are hoping to nick one off the front and I cannot leave it out of tipping at the price.

I think that the race fit RHYME SCHEME who runs off a nice mark and at the right trip will be one to catch it and possibly go past but I narrowly prefer KODIMOOR a bit more strongly. The form here is significant, it's race fit, nice mark and last 2 runs have been off this mark finishing 3rd of 16 off a mile and 1/2 furlong (8 and 1/2 furlongs) last September; and winning at this distance in August 2019. It's hard to knock that form and at around 15/2 really you can't find any excuses for it not having an excellent each way chance.

TIP - KODIMOOR / TRACKERS- Rhyme Scheme + Antagonize (play a few Tricast Perm lines if you wish with Highland Reel)
