Beverley 5.15

Beverley 5.15 4 Peterhouse @ 11/2 / 3 Modernism @ 22/1 (BV+Sky or 16/1 generally)

The 5.15 is a race over a mile and a half and includes what look like regressive older horses and a few
progressive 3 year olds. Mark Johnstone targets the race and runs Star Of Lombardy and whilst feared it is a horse that pulls
and could set the race up for a closer. Alphabetical Order from the O'Meara yard is a big danger as is the in form Regal
Mirage, but I was very much drawn to PETERHOUSE a Course and Distance winner at the right trip here on a very nice mark.
I was going to leave it at that but can't resist a dabble on MODERNISM. He has been in my tracker a while and basically
disappointed many times at Chester. That track though does extenuate form as if you miss the break its impossible to
make up ground round the turns. This track looks idea; the trainer is one of my favourites and in form and look back to
2016 and you will see the horse running at a mark of about 10 lbs higher very well in better races than this. The other
interesting form angle, going back 2 years to 2015; he finished close second to Peterhouse over this trip off a stone more;
so notionally is very well in with Peterhouse if revitalised by getting away from Chester!
