Chepstow 3.30

Chepstow 3.30 9 Gardiners Hill - 1/2 point each way @ 16/1

I (as Placespotter); in the absence of any tips with enough confidence from the other Tipsters today, though was drawn to
the 3.30 at Chepstow. Flaming Charmer and Thisonetime head the market and rightly so, but at around 3/1 are not great
value in the likely conditions. We then have the likes of Major Hindrance and Until Winning who are likely contenders but as
a speculative punt on a wild and wet day, GARDINERS HILL jumped off the page at me, and the more I looked, the more

I feel confident about it, certainly out-running the 16/1 odds and absolutely giving us a bit of fun too.

It has proven winning for at this trip and significant farther in heavy Going. It is race fit having had a run already; the mark
may be a bit on the high side, but a decent Claimer gets it to within 3-4 pounds of a winning mark. The Trainer intrigues
me, as Dai Rees can ready one and also plot one (the one poor day in the past 2 weeks was due to a big priced winner
he sent out at Ffos Llas beating a runner for us. The more I looked at the race, the more I formed the view that this horse
"will be here to win"; I'm not saying the others won't be, and I'm certainly not suggesting anything in-towards, but I think
a few won't be ridden past the point of fatigue, and that this one will run to get the trip, pick up beaten horses down the
straight and to grab prize money all the way, and a hunch that they will think it could take them all the way. The one
thing that stops the better horses and suits the brave horses is mud - so we shall see and fingers crossed the logic is
correct.
