(I did consider my own personal "cliff horse" Ice Cold in Alex in the tricky opener at 1.00 but at the price will leave it alone, one to back at 20/1 for some e/w money not one to trust at 4/1 with some win money).

 

In the 4.30 I'm intrigued by HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN. It won off a mark of 48 at the corresponding Meeting over Course and Distance last season. Was then hiked over 50 in the handicap and has run some poor races since, but the better ones, including placed effort have been here. This seems an ideal trip for the horse and back below a mark of 50 it warrants consideration.

 

Two things put me off a full 1 point each way tip and lead me to an 1/2 point tracker. Firstly the filly does need some cut in the ground. The track has patches of yielding ground, it's likely to be quite cloudy but no real rain expected, so not ideal Going but certainly not the firm stuff the horse doesn't like. The other factor may be a drawn in a low number stall, as opposed to high last year, it makes a small difference here to break from high.

 

Off 48 and with a decent 5lbs claimer, it looks the one real value punt of the day.
