Leopardstown 2.30 - Sean

A 28 runner field including 3 reserves the 3rd of which is favourite on some Bookies books!

If you look seriously at the field in the likely soft Going it is hard to rule too many out but equally hard to be particularly confident about more than a handful so I've narrowed my choice down to 8 or the 28 who I think are of most interest and value.

Peaches and Cream interests me as a Course winner but I think this trip is basically too far, a Course winner at 2 1/2 miles I would prefer to see it prove it gets this trip conclusively before spending any stake money on it. Alohamora is a nice horse and a nice price, fell last time when running well, I just feel this is too deep a race and big a field but one I suggest that you track on next few (basically easier) assignments after today.Silver Sheen arrives with form figures of 111 and will be a big threat but this type of field and quality upped in the ratings is "different gravy" and I don't think the price represents value. The last one I left out of staking/tip deliberations was BRAESIDE for the Elliott yard arrives with form figures 3331 and some old P2P form at the trip, could improve for this step back up in distance and if there were a non runner amongst my final picks this one would be my standby reserve.

On to the 4 who I most fancy at the odds and lets start with a pair of 1/2 point each way Trackers.

CUNEO for the De Bromhead yard has had 3 disappointing runs so far this season hampered by a handicap mark that shot up last season. Last win was off 126 and now back to 134 with a 7lbs claimer reducing the effective mark to 127. I anticipate an improved run and at big odds and enhanced places worth a 1/2 point e/w poke and definitely one to keep an eye on over next few runs especially as ground dries out. HIGH SPARROW is a consistent type who deserves to get a big prize in a race of this type, trip, going and handicap mark just about right, and a decent e/w chance to enhanced places.

The 2 tips for 1 point each way are BRAESIDE form of 3331 so not hiding a lot but has good 3 miles P2P form and the step up in trip here could unlock more improvement. STACKS MOUNTAIN has Course winning form and Distance winning form, runs off a nice handicap mark for Henry De Bromhead and the truly exceptional Rachel Blackmore rides and that is a tip in itself these days. A solid each way chance off this mark.

TIPS - BRAESIDE + STACKS MOUNTAIN - 1 point each way
TRACKERS - Cuneo + High Sparrow 1/2 point each way
