Leopardstown 4.15

Leopardstown 4.15 - 1 mile 2 furlongs - Handicap - 20 run - Good to Yielding (probably closer to Yielding)

A competitive race and not one to dive in on so we'll go Tracker stakes and if you wanted to go a little lower I'd not put you off.

I can by-pass the top 3 in the market in terms of a financial investment. They are where they should be in terms of price but i have enough doubts in my mind to think they aren't great value overall.

Federica Sophia may be a nice horse in time and should still have some scope but may just need this run and race fitness may just tell at the business end of the race. Tauran Shaman is another with some scope to improve as the season goes on but I'm not sure this tough 10 furlongs is what it quite needs yet and Sense of Worth has to conclusively prove it's as good on Turf as on the AW and I have a sneaky fancy for a bigger priced stablemate.

That one is DREAM TALE, a Course winner, stamina assured at this trip, is race fit for Andy Oliver and drawn in 14 is neither a bonus or a hindrance I don't think, unless low number dominate, but there is usually a fair chance for the best horses to prevail here with luck in running.

At bigger Odds and flagged up in my Tracker from a few runs last term is Jin Blogers horse MCCABE, it definitely needed a season debut over an inadequate 7 furlongs. If we take that as what it probably was, a good blow out and a trip to the Course to get the horses brain back in to "race mode" and look back at a decent runner up effort at Naas last season off a mark of 80 in soft Going, then I think if fit enough today it can do some damage off a mark of 78 with Kevin Manning in the plate and bits of collateral form with a few at shorter Odds that suggests it is a shade over-priced. One I will continue to track after today whatever the outcome.
