This could turn in to a real slog over an extended 30 furlongs and most of these are what we can best call "enigmatic".
Ballymalin, at the head of the market looks very strong but 7/2 is not real value and we will include him instead in a Tricast perm. His
Naunton neighbour Petite Power will be a danger, but I'm not 100% convinced in terms of stamina on the Going. Boric generally prefer
a better firmer surface, so I want to fins something proven at the trip off a nice racing weight. I was left with a short list of four, I discarded
Onderun, not yet proven at the trip although in form and just a hunch it is simply not quite good enough. LAC SACRE very much fits that
description too but could nick a place off a decent gallop and LOWANBEHOLD will be a mention (see below). My tip is the Lucinda Russell
trained ITSTIMEFORAPINT, yard had a winner yesterday, disappointing most of the season but pop up with winners at times. Consistency is
not this horses strength but when "on its A game" is a dour and solid stayer, they switch headgear to freshen him up and in past race analysis
trainer comments like "he is one paced but has unlimited stamina" bode well, as this will be a slog, and I suspect they will ride him to get the trip;
knowing he has proven reserves and will simply stay "On and on". As I write PP/BV are a bit out of line at 14's (likely to vanish soon) and 10's
the general price still looks good value. I will take the tip, the mention, Lac Sacre and Ballymalin in a small Tricast Perm.
