Placespotter - Hereford 3.20 13 Kapricorne 9/1 / 12 Try It Sometime 16/1 - both each way

In the 3.20 a 26 furlong race over Fences in Heavy Going the obvious starting point is stamina;
the other factor few will consider today is "the wind" which is picking up and can suit both hold
up horses, who can find shelter in the field of runners and also those off a lower weight with
proven ability at the distance. The fact that a few might be here "to win for local connections"
is another angle to exploit. This is pretty low grade fare and not that many are "in form" but
I don't think the market leaders (Monderon and Money Maid) offer great value at 4/1 with no
real form at the trip in Heavy Going, they are amongst the better horses and could "hose up"
but this feels like one of those days when a "dour stayer" has its day in ideal conditions.
KAPRICONE is a solid and consistent stayer, it has been hampered in the past by sloppy
but not bad jumping, but usually finds a way home to pick up some place money; very
reminiscent of  Burgess Dream yesterday. TRY IT SOMETIME has won a slog in heavy
Going when it was the only finisher, locally trained, you can't help but think the instructions
today will be similar to Flugzeug yesterday, "let them go, pick up tired horses and pick up
a place at least" - you have the feeling there are still performances in Tutchec and Wellforth
off these marks, but we will have some fun with the selections and hope for a nice result.
