Punchestown 3.40 - 2 1/2 miles Handicap Hurdle Final and the lack of numbers from the big Irish Yards and more than usual from UK give the race a very open feel. One i have tracked and watched closely who looks to have been laid out for the race by the Harringtons is CONRON. A bit of a Course specialist over 2 miles, has had a winning warm up on the Flat. Steps up to 2 1/2 miles but is a big late developing type and the Trainers comments about "putting him away for the spring and the better ground over further" make this look like a carefully laid out plan. Has scope and size and one I like a lot. My only niggle is the ground, but again The Trainer made it clear they won't run in heavy until the horse is fully mature, so I am actually comfortable that if it is too heavy, they will withdraw for a better day - hence a confident tip with the comfort that they wont run if a bog.
