The Curragh 2.30

THE CURRAGH 2.30 Handicap - 5 Furlongs - Yielding 18 run

The Straight course firmily favoured LOW Drawn number at the last Meeting on Good Going and indeed that seems to be the trend in recent times.

We've had significant success with a few of these at big Odds already this summer, and Blairmayne almost produced a very big one last time, just failing to get out of a pocket in time to catch Mr lupton who had flown by then, but I think the draw and the shorter trip today does it no favours.

We also tipped BIG GOSSEY in that race and it had no chance from a high draw, it doesn't get a great Draw again today but it has a number of significant form lines with 3 other 3 year Olds all of whom have strong Claims today that make me think it is very well handicapped against them. It would be no surprise to see Silver Spear / Not Now Zeb or Elzaamone win this but on a number of collateral runs I think that BIG GOSSEY gets pulls of around 10lbs / 9 lbs and 13 pounds with those rivals respectively. We shall see.

I can also give chances again to Royal Canford who could again try to make all and this is a furlong less than last time and Ardhooney but if I take that 3 year old form of the 4 very closely analysed, then a 4 year old who has met them too at various points looks the best handicapped horse in the race. That is BOUGHTINTHEPARK who has a 6lbs pull with Elzamoore and therefore through a whole host of collateral form, and with the advantage of being a more mature horse against a few younger ones who may just be beginning to go over the top after a busy but truncated season, I think very well handicapped.

It's one of if not the most complex puzzle I've encountered all season so a pair of each way Trackers are the call, and if I do solve the puzzle the pleasure of sorting the analysis will far outweigh the monetary gain!
