PLACESPOTTER - YARMOUTH 3.20 5 Albert Boy @ 11/2 + 11 Go On Gal @ 18 - 20/1 (bits of 25/1 early PP + BetFred go odds to 4th according to some sources)

My "way in" to this race is via our redoubtable old friend, a horse we owned a share of SEXY SECRET. You may recall she won for us at 16/1 on the 13th June in a 4 day spell when we hammered home winners at 20/1 twice and 16/1 twice to SP. On the 19th June I advised NOT to back her at 5/1 at Leicester and she duly won, and that signalled the start of a horrid 6 week spell for us. I would be astonished IF she won today off a mark of 57, her win at 16/1 was off 45 and her next win off 47, she was then runner up off 51. What she will do though is run her usual brave race from the front, ensure a decent clip and crank the pace up down the straight, so what we look for is something that can breeze up off that pace. ALBERT BOY is very consistent in this Grade, gets a nice pull for finishing behind SS in the Leicester race and should be more at home over the near 12 furlongs than anything else in the race. I think it is the one to beat outside of a favourite Long Call who is ridiculously short.

Of the rest, the likes of Astrobreeze and Sussex Girl may be better than they have shown recently and old TYRSAL is very well handicapped but I feel better over shorter, that leads me to GO ON GAL, more an AW expert nowadays but has run well on Good to Firm turf and does have proven stamina for the trip and will have benefitted from a recent run after a break. I think of all the remainder it is most suited to the likely gallop and would normally be expected to be at or near the front and as long as GOG and SS don't poke each others eyes out pace wise, can see one of them placing at good odds and I just fancy GOG at the prices/weights.
